Happy Wednesday, friends! I know what you’re thinking. “It’s not Tuesday?? We get another blog this week??” Yes. Yes you do. I had TWO amazing sessions this weekend and I can’t hold back my excitement. My treat for you today is this STUNNING Disney’s Boardwalk Resort maternity session!
The Burns family is such a special family to me. I met Chris at Osceola Arts (the local theatre) back in 2013 when we worked on Anything Goes together. A few years down the road, I met Chris’ wife, Shana, when she choreographed multiple productions at the same theatre! She is so talented and I was always in awe of her! Their son, Dalton, came with her to many of the rehearsals I was photographing and I just fell in love with the whole family.
Earlier this year, I found out that Shana was pregnant with their second child! I was so happy for them and even more happy that they were going to be having a girl! Shana reached out to me about photographing their maternity session and I just couldn’t say no. We met early Sunday morning at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and had such a fun session!
Chris and Dalton had coordinating plaid outfits and Shana looked stunning in her grey dress. We walked down the boardwalk, stopping by the lake and hanging out around the shops. While Shana and Chris were getting their portraits done, Dalton and Jack played together! Dalton even helped Jack capture some photos of his mom and dad.
While they changed into their more casual outfit, I got to explore some of the details Shana brought for their new daughter. Shana performs in the Beauty and the Beast show at Hollywood Studios. The girls that perform with her handmade a mini duplicate outfit for Baby Girl Burns that Shana wears during the show! It was so cute and such a touching gift from the cast. They also made her an adorable sign for her room. I’m under sworn secrecy for the name until it’s released, but it does start with an “E”!
On the second half of our maternity session, we spent time in the courtyard of the resort having a bit of fun. Dalton and Shana had a small wrestling match, and Chris told Shana some secrets that made her laugh out loud. Shana also showed us how strong and flexible she is (even 8 months pregnant!!) by picking up Dalton and holding him upside down. The whole family is just a blast to be around and we had a ton of laughter at 8 AM!
Shana said that her second pregnancy is going great so far! She is due November 1st. Her second pregnancy was definitely easier than her first. She has had no cravings but loves her sweets! Who doesn’t though, am I right?
Shana and Chris, it was an honor to capture one of the most special times in your life. Your little girl is more lucky than she knows! I can’t wait to meet her!
